Today, organizers announced that applications are now open for performers to take part in the 11th annual Electric City Music Conference, set for this September in Scranton. Musicians of all genres are invited to apply for the chance to showcase their talents. Applications to perform can be submitted through the official website, electriccitymusicconference.com.

Both full bands and solo artists can take advantage of this opportunity to share their music with local crowds and visiting music industry professionals. Bands from Northeastern Pennsylvania can apply for free, while regional and national bands are welcome to apply for a nominal fee. All artists who apply, regardless of being selected or not, are awarded free weekend VIP passes.

In addition to performers, music industry professionals interested in participating in panels or providing mentorship to musicians can also apply starting today.

The ECMC staff will review all applications and strive to accommodate as many artists as possible. Over 150 acts will be selected to showcase their talents across various venues in Scranton, including The V-Spot, Backyard Ale House, The Bog, The Ritz Theater, Harry’s, The Shakes Space at The Marketplace at Steamtown, and Mutant Brewing. More venues are expected to be added in the coming weeks. Interested venues are encouraged to contact joseph.caviston@gmail.com with inquiries.

The Electric City Music Conference has become a beloved yearly tradition in Scranton, transforming the city into a hub for musicians and music industry professionals over three days in autumn. The event includes an award ceremony, education panels, seminars, meet and greets, and a city-wide music festival.

The festivities kick off with the Steamtown Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 12, honoring the area’s top musicians and serving as a welcome party for visiting bands and industry professionals. Nominations for the awards recently opened on Feb. 1.

Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14 will feature a two-day, multi-venue music festival showcasing local talent and acts from across the United States.

Friday and Saturday will feature a free educational conference, offering musicians the chance to connect with seasoned industry professionals through panels, seminars, and networking sessions. These panels are open to the public, providing valuable insights for music enthusiasts as well.

Over the past 11 years, the Electric City Music Conference has welcomed artists from every genre, with over 1,500 acts from 25 states and five countries gracing its stages. Many artists who have performed at ECMC have gone on to achieve widespread acclaim. Don’t miss your chance to discover new music and potentially witness the next big name in the industry.
